I find yoga the ultimate practice to come to terms with physical and mental well-being. Yoga's focus on structural and mental balance provides an important counterpoint to our modern lifestyle.
I'm passionate about studying how yoga can help the specific needs of athletes and I am certified in teaching Yoga for Athletes by Sage Rountree (www.sagerountree.com). I completed my RYT200 at Balance Studio and I'm now working towards my RYT500 with Sage Rountree, Mira Shani and others at Carolina Yoga Company.
As a student, I love to experience all styles of yoga, but my favorite place to be is on my mat in a hot vinyasa flow class. As a teacher, my teaching style and class offerings mirror my personal practice and the feedback of students which is continually evolving. My personal experience with chronic pain, movement limitations and a unwavering determination to continue running guides both my studies and my teaching. I use props, modifications and supportive verbal guidance to help students find the form of the pose that best serves their body's unique needs.
